From 1983 when Jack Lundgren began handing out xerox pamphlets made with felt pen, to today with the business expanding throughout Alberta, Excel & Y Insurance has always been dedicated to providing customers peace of mind.

A history of insurance partnership

1983
Jack Lundgren opened Jack Lundgren Insurance Services with business cards and a borrowed desk in a shared office space
1985
As the team started to grow, the firm was incorporated as Lundgren Insurance Ltd.
Lundgren Insurance acquired Boulder Insurance to continue growing the business.
1985
1989
Thom and Val Young are introduced to the business and join as partners acquiring half of the company.
A year later when the company moved to a new storefront location, the need for a new sign inspired the need for a new name. Lundgren Insurance Ltd became Lundgren & Young Insurance Ltd.
1990
1997
Lundgren & Young acquired Brookeholm insurance and established a new branch in the north of Calgary.
Thom and Val agreed to acquire Jack’s interests in the corporation and Jack continued to work as President until his retirement.
2000
2003
Lundgren & Young opened a satellite office in Lethbridge, branching out of Calgary to better serve more Albertans
in february 2021, lundgren & young insurance partnered with the excel insurance group - a group of likeminded independent brokers creating Excel & Y insurance services ltd.
we are pleased to be a partner in the excel insurance group and excited to offer a broader offering of products to our customers!
